Divination Cases

Live readings, field records and the method behind them

A prediction that is only explained after the event is not evidence of anything. This section is the archive's attempt to do the harder thing: record a reading before the outcome is known, with the reasoning visible, so that it can be checked later and — where it fails — be seen to fail.

The numbered series follows one method across different people and problems. The entries are short because a reading is short: a chart, a question, a judgement. What makes them worth reading together is that the same steps recur, and you can watch the practitioner decide which system a question belongs to before answering it. Set against that, Mount Wudang is a single site read at length — the whole procedure on one landscape instead of one question.

Start with case one for the method, then read the Wudang study to see it carried through without the compression.
