The Core Secret of Seeking the Dragon and Setting the Point (Part 2)

Translator's note. Part two moves from “what a point is” to “what can be done about it.” The distinction here between manifest and latent energy (显性能量 / 隐性能量) is doing a lot of work: two people can be identical in weight, looks, schooling and character, and still carry very different latent energy — the way a kilogram of uranium and a kilogram of coal differ. It also introduces the birth-order matching rule (rending dingwei, 人丁定位) that decides whether a given point helps or destroys a given person, and ends with an unexpected claim: a vein's energy need not lie underground at all, which is how a flat on the twentieth floor can sit on a dragon point.

There are very many ways to change the fate of a life. At the large end: transmuting the energy of fate, adjusting feng shui, adjusting by medicine. At the small end: names, the six relations, colour, number, the five elements, talismans and incantations, praying to gods and Buddhas, qigong, cultivation practices, releasing living creatures. All of them can change a life to some degree. But the degree is confined within the level of innate fate that the ancestral grave and the family home had already fixed before birth — an up-and-down movement inside that level, and nothing more. None of these methods can change a fate at the root.

Once a person is born, it is as though a car has left the factory. You may change what the car is used for, change the environment it is used in, replace its parts, change its name, change the driver, change its colour, change its number plate, change the fuel, consecrate it, chant over it, paste talismans on it, take refuge for it, tune and service it — by none of these means will that car become a different car at the root. The only way to turn it into another car is to rebuild it, and the more thorough the rebuild, the less it is the original car.

A person's fate is the same. The best way to change it thoroughly would be for the mother to select a true dragon point to live in, carry the child there for ten months, and give birth to him all over again — which is a joke. So can a human fate really not be changed at the root? We can say with absolute certainty: it can.

How, then?

We know that to change a car fundamentally without altering its outward appearance, we can rebuild its power train, its suspension and its running gear. Once those three are rebuilt, the car's performance differs essentially from what it was. A person's fate is the same. Without changing a person's manifest energy, we can fundamentally change his latent energy. A person's wealth or poverty, honour or meanness, fortune or disaster, longevity or early death are determined by the latent energy within his fate. Two people whose manifest energy is identical — same weight, same looks, same schooling, same cultivation, same morals, same temperament — do not necessarily have the same latent energy of fate. (A kilogram of uranium and a kilogram of coal contain utterly different internal energy.) Without touching the manifest energy, changing the latent energy of a fate changes the fate at the root.

And the only way to change a person's latent energy at the root is to let that already-born person receive the inexhaustible, enormous energy of a true dragon point. Only a true dragon point has such a supply — just as only a well drilled into the oil layer produces oil, into the gas layer produces gas, into the coal seam produces coal, into the water-bearing layer produces water. Without the true dragon point there is no inexhaustible supply. With it, the fate of an already-born person will certainly change at the root.

So how is an already-born person to get that supply?

First, by moving the grave of his closest blood ancestor to a true dragon point. This transmits the energy indirectly.

Second, by building or buying a house and living on the point itself. This receives the energy directly.

Once a person has that supply, how much will his fate change?

1. It depends first on the level of innate fate fixed by the ancestral grave and family home before his birth. The higher that level, the higher his capacity and efficiency for receiving the energy of the true dragon point. If the birth environment fixed him at the level of a geomancer, and the true dragon point he later obtains is of the level of a prince or a marquis, he will rise to the provincial or ministerial level. If the birth environment fixed him at the level of the poor and mean, then even with a princely point he will not become a provincial governor; the most he can reach is middling wealth and middling rank.

This is exactly like rebuilding a car. If it left the factory as a little four-wheeled farm cart, no rebuilding will turn it into an Audi. If it left the factory as a Santana, it can be rebuilt to Audi performance.

2. It depends second on how much energy the true dragon point itself has. Is this a dragon come a thousand li, a hundred, or ten? And can the way the vein's qi circulates actually deliver that qi into the point we have chosen? The more distant the source and the better the circulation pattern suits the point's intake, the greater the change in the fate of the person who receives it.

3. Vein qi has auspicious and dangerous aspects, and true dragon points do too. And because the recipients differ, the same point is auspicious for one person and dangerous for another. At one and the same true dragon point, different people who receive the inexhaustible supply will show utterly different fates: one dies young, one rises to minister, one ends in ruin, one has no descendants. This is why siblings born into the same pregnancy environment have different fates, and why the descendants of one ancestral grave have different fates.

So even after finding a true dragon point, you must understand the theory of how a point relates to birth order and position within the family (rending dingwei). Only then is the outcome guaranteed. Without it, the result may be ruin.

From all this it should be clear: to change a life at the root, the person must receive the auspicious energy of a true dragon point, and only then does the change become fundamental. Apart from the true dragon point configuration, every other method of changing a life is a fluctuating adjustment inside a fixed level of fate. None of them can cross the innate level that was fixed at birth.

With the theory of strata dissection and energy accumulation in strata we have decoded the vein-qi point, and can apply it in practice to benefit people and change fates. With it, the true dragon points of every kind of incoming dragon can be found simply and conveniently, and the inexhaustible energy of a true dragon point can change a human fate at the root.

The true dragon point is the only method of changing a human fate thoroughly at the root.

Where, then, is the true dragon point?

At the stratum where the energy accumulates, and at the focal point of the landform's energy.

  1. In yin-dwelling feng shui — graves — true dragon points exist, but they are suitable only for burying (or reburying) the remains or ashes of one's closest blood ancestors.
  1. In yang-dwelling feng shui — houses — true dragon points also exist, in dense cities and in open countryside alike. Choose the point and live on it, and the fate of the person whose energy corresponds to that point's auspicious energy will change fundamentally: poverty to wealth, meanness to honour, small wealth and small honour to middling, middling to great.

If a child is born after the family has moved onto that point, and that child corresponds to the point's auspicious energy, then the outcome follows the length of the dragon. A dragon under one li: wealth in the millions, rank at the county bureau level or fame within a county. Under ten li: millions, and rank at the county or regimental level, or fame within a county or city. Under a hundred li: tens of millions, and rank at the prefectural level, or fame within a province or city. Over a hundred li: hundreds of millions, and provincial or ministerial rank, or fame at home and abroad.

So in country and city alike, true dragon points are everywhere; find one and you can become rich and honoured. At this point some swindling master will ask: “In the city everything is tower blocks, some of them dozens of storeys high — are all hundred floors from the first to the hundredth wealthy and honoured?” I can answer plainly. Vein qi is not only underground or at ground level; it can also be high in the air. How deep below the surface or how high above it the vein's qi runs is decided by the way the qi circulates — by the direction in which the strata's energy moves inside the rock. If a stratum tilts upward, the qi is in the air, not underground. Whichever floor of the building receives the energy jetting out of that inclined stratum, the household on that floor containing the corresponding auspicious person is the one that prospers.

Which is to say: the true dragon point may be as high as the sky or as low as beneath the ground. Its position is decided entirely by the structure of the strata and the landform.
